You can see what services are available to help you stay in your own home. & Find out if you are eligible for government-funded aged care, with their eligibility checker.
Am I eligible?
Eligibility is based on factors like your health, how you’re managing at home, and any support you currently receive. You may be eligible for aged care services if you have:
- noticed a change in what you can do or remember
- been diagnosed with a medical condition or reduced mobility
- experienced a change in family care arrangements
- experienced a recent fall or hospital admission,
and are:
- 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people).
How does it work?
The Australian Government subsidises the cost of home support services that you can receive in the comfort of your own home. What you need to pay depends on your services and in some cases, your financial situation.
How do I access these services?
Depending on your care needs, services can be accessed through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme or a Home Care Package. An assessment process determines what program is more suitable for you. Check if you meet the requirements for an assessment, or if you are ready, apply for an assessment now.
